The Girl at Midnight

Author: Melissa Grey
Pages: 357
Publisher: Delacorte Press
Release Date: April 28th 2015
Beneath the streets of New York City live the Avicen, an ancient race of people with feathers for hair and magic running through their veins. Age-old enchantments keep them hidden from humans. All but one. Echo is a runaway pickpocket who survives by selling stolen treasures on the black market, and the Avicen are the only family she's ever known. Echo is clever and daring, and at times she can be brash, but above all else she's fiercely loyal. So when a centuries-old war crests on the borders of her home, she decides it's time to act. Legend has it that there is a way to end the conflict once and for all: find the Firebird, a mythical entity believed to possess power the likes of which the world has never seen. It will be no easy task, though if life as a thief has taught Echo anything, it's how to hunt down what she wants . . . and how to take it. But some jobs aren't as straightforward as they seem. And this one might just set the world on fire.

What's Been Happening?

Soooo it's been a stressful month and that is all because I am a procrastinator and cannot sleep on time and that is causing me to be really tried during the day. On top of that, homework and projects are starting to pile up and I am honestly just so done. I feel like I can't be productive anymore. Within 3 hours, I tend to get homework done (Usually a math worksheet) and draft half a review or a meme post and that is only within 3 hours. 3 hours is a ton of time and people get so much done within that time so why do I literally feel like I get nothing done? Time goes by so fast and it scares me how quickly it becomes night. Like, literally it is currently almost 10pm (Thursday) when I draft this post and I am going to sleep in half an hour.. Ugh feeling just really frustrated with myself and productivity levels and it scares me. I'm only in the 8th grade and already can't handle school and blogging. I'm really trying to draft and schedule a lot a posts during the weekends but that really didn't work out for me this week and I have honestly been stressing about that. I think I just get way too distracted with Twitter during the day and it's so bad. I guess you could say I have the fear of missing out? Anyway, I will definitely get back to you on the time management thing my recap of the month post.

Also, super behind on reading as well, isn't that great? So many great books to read and I'm barely 1/3 my TBR and I have about 13 days left in this month. Yeah September isn't going very well for me right now.

On a brighter note, my shows are coming back on soon and I am a happy girl. ;)

So tell me: How has your month been so far?
