Bookish Product Review: Craft'ed Bookmarks
4/25/2015
So about 7 months ago Regan at Peruse Project posted this video. For about 2 minutes she talks about these bookmarks, there magnetic handmade bookmarks. When I first saw the bookmarks on the Etsy store I freaked out. Like legit freaked out. They were the most cutest thing ever for the best price ever. They all had such cute little smiles and some of them even had hands!
So purty! :D |
I bookmarked the Etsy page and for awhile I kept stocking on what new bookmarks they had. Soon, I found this new beauty on the Etsy page.

Like what is this?! Three of my favorite things (Boba [Bubble Tea], Bookmarks, and Cuteness) in one?! I had to get it. (Also, this picture of the bookmark looks great!) So me being, well me, decided to wait until my birthday and simply ask for that bookmark as a birthday gift.
Man, so glad I waited.
So April rolled around and as a April fools gift, Craft'ed was offering GINORMOUS bookmarks. Yes I freaked out again. I then remembered that Rin (WHO HAD AN ETSY) still owed be a bit from Christmas so she got this for me! First thing my mind went to when I had to choose which bookmark to enlarge? That's right, the bubble tea one.
IT'S SO BIG! |
So I waited..
and waited..
and thought,"Man, why does Canada have to be so far?"
and waited some more...
Literally me (Image Source) |
THEN IT CAME.
It finally came and I was ecstatic. Haha, I actually tried out my trust in Rin and she ended up FORGETTING TO BRING IT TO ME. (Fun fact: I took her bookmark so I could use it but she made me gave it back. I was stuck with a blue post-it note for the day.) When her mom came to pick us up she brought them and I may have had a mini freak out session in the car. Like god this thing was the cutest thing EVER. So that leads to now. How do I feel about the bookmark? Would I recommend it?

My first impressions
So this is when I was in the car first opening the bookmark. I definitely thought it was flimsier than usual. I was actually really scared when I was putting the bookmark onto the page because of how delicate it seemed. The texture was also a lot different that I imagined it. Also, it was a lot bigger than I had imagined it too! Maybe I didn't pay very much attention to the model picture but I thought it would have been smaller. Also, you can very much tell this bookmark was handmade. When you first see it, it doesn't look like it. As you start to pay more attention to the little details like how one side is more straight than the other edge. Or how the magnets look like they were cut from magnet tape. I like that! It just makes the bookmarks a lot more unique and mine. That just shows how far someone could go with just a few art supplies from Walmart (I really don't know how they make their bookmarks. Don't listen to me) and great drawing skills.
Final Thoughts
All in all, I would definitely recommend this shop! It's super cute, good price, homemade, and just great quality! If you are someone who is always on the go and has no time to open the HUGE bookmark, clip the page, and make sure it is straight, I would go for the smaller ones. (Well, the ginormous bookmarks are no longer available so...) You have to be very careful with these bookmarks. It is very easy to get them dirty. My classmate slid it across the table in a super fast way and it has some scratch marks. *cries* Yeah, so you have to make sure NO ONE get's their hands on this things. I don't know what the smaller bookmark is like but my bookmark is very bulky at some places. (Pst, go beg Rin! Maybe she will write a review on the normal sized ones...) It's really big and with the magnets, it's really floppy.
This shop is great for small bookmarks! I would definitely recommend it for the normal sized bookmarks! They also have really great cards! :D
